A database system
for mobile environments |

The main goal of this project is to provide
methodologies and tools to deploy relational database applications on mobile
computers. Our research focus two main areas: the mobile transaction model and
the divergence control. Until now, we have developed a model of mobile
transactions that allows the definition of precise conflict detection and
conflict resolution rules using semantic information associated with the
operations. We have also defined a conflict avoidance model based on
reservations upon the database state - this model allows to independently
guarantee the results of transaction in mobile devices. Currently, we are
integrating an automatic semantics-based reconciliation engine to maximize the
value of un-guaranteed transactions that can be committed.
