Open Post Doctoral Fellowship on the project NG-STORAGE: New Generation of data STORage And manaGement systEms.

The NOVA Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics (http://nova-lincs.di.fct.unl.pt/the-center) is hiring a Post Doctoral fellow for a period of 30 months to conducted advanced research on geo-distributed and edge storage solutions. In particular, on the design of highly robust and efficient storage solutions featuring partial and dynamic replication.

The successful candidate will have a strong background on the design and implementation of distributed systems, preferably with practical experience in the design of geo-replicated storage systems. The candidate should have a PhD on computer science, computer engineering, or similar field. Preference will be given to researchers that are enthusiastic on tackling complex and relevant challenges and produce high quality research. Additionally, we aim at hiring researchers that are interested in pursuing their own carrer development research tracks in combination with the local Computer Systems research team.

The researcher to be hired will be working on the Computer Systems group of the NOVA LINCS laboratory under the scientific advising of Prof. João Leitão (http://asc.di.fct.unl.pt/~jleitao) and will join a young and dynamic research team. Since 2015, members of the group have published in top-tier conferences and journals, including Comm. of the ACM, PVLDB, EuroSys, Usenix ATC, Middleware, WWW, ICDCS, DSN, and SRDS.

The position offers a work contract (including 13th months of salary per year + vacation supplement) for a maximum period of 30 months.
